Shoreline Special Education PTSA

Our mission is to build community within and between student groups, caregivers and staff, and to advocate for special education students and for equitable, inclusive education for all.  

We envision a Shoreline School District community where every child is valued and authentically included, without segregated special education.  We envision a process where caregivers feel empowered and prepared to support student-centered special education planning in partnership with educators.

Updates

Membership for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! If finances, or anything, is a barrier to membership, please email us. All information will be kept confidential. $16 for an individual, $26 for a two-person joint membership. 

Member Meeting: We will elect our nominating committee in our business meeting then engage in a workshop that will help us thrive, not just survive, the dark winter months. Leading with Love: How can we extend the care we give our children to ourselves? will be an interactive session with an opportunity for reflection, skill building, mutual support, and fun.  Leading with love is our guiding star–we use it both as a directive and a question that helps us extend grace and request accountability. Together we will explore how we can use the same strengths and skillsets used to navigate systems for our children to care for ourselves and lean into community.  Wednesday, January 14 at 7pm. Zoom Registration Prior to the workshop, you may want to take some time to answer some reflections questions. Thank you to the Well Being Community Center for presenting the workshop.

Community Connection: Join us on Saturday, January 24 from 10am to 12pm at Richmond Beach Coffee (1442 NW Richmond Beach Rd) to build community and chat. We'd love to see you! Look for the sign.

Volunteer Opportunities:  We have several volunteer opportunities that can scale to the time and energy you have to give! Have only a couple of hours twice a year? Have a couple of hours a month? Have more time? We would love to discuss how you can support students, teachers, staff, and families in our district. Most opportunities can happen at times set by you.
