Our mission is to build community within and between student groups, caregivers and staff, and to advocate for special education students and for equitable, inclusive education for all.
We envision a Shoreline School District community where every child is valued and authentically included, without segregated special education. We envision a process where caregivers feel empowered and prepared to support student-centered special education planning in partnership with educators.
Membership for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! If finances, or anything, is a barrier to membership, please email us. All information will be kept confidential. $16 for an individual, $26 for a two-person joint membership
Community Connections: Join us at Kitanda (20121 Aurora Ave N Suite A, Shoreline) to say hi, ask questions and build community across the district. Saturday, September 20 from 10am to 12 noon.
Save the Date! Our first general member meeting will be Thursday, October 23 at 7pm over Zoom. More details on our speakers and topic will be posted soon.
NEW! Reddit Communities: Have you heard? Shoreline SEPTSA has two new Reddit Communities - one just for Shoreline SEPTSA caregivers, and one for all members - to ask questions, discuss, and build community around issues of disability, inclusive education, and other related topics.
To join please chat with ShorelineSEPTSA in Reddit with your real name (to confirm SEPTSA membership) and if you want to join the "caregiver community" and/or the "open community". If you have any issues, email shoreline@shorelineseptsa.org with your Reddit name (make sure the capitalization in your username is exact) and the community you want to join.
The SEPTSA Board met in August 2025 and developed goals to guide our year. We will report on plans and progress throughout the year. Please let us know if you have questions:
1. Identify and develop member benefits for parents/caregivers, for students, and for faculty/staff.
2. Explore & increase student engagement
3. Membership to 100 members
4. Increase student membership to 10
5. Increase visibility to community and students
6. Ensure language accessibility
